Interview

Interview was pretty straightforward. Workman (Todd Greenwald) had recieved complaints about the water system, and had been given an odd preferred time for work. Entered apartment and discovered body approximately 5 minutes before calling 911.

I'll review the journal, but I'm pretty sure this one is case closed, with an unknown, yet natural, cause of death.

Hungover

Case is dull. Interview put off 'til tomorrow.

Autopsy results showed nothing. All organs were healthy and lacking in puncture wounds. We had some of the boys go down and look for some of the nastier stealth kills, but this wasn't one of those.

Foundation

A few of the dead man's personal effects were delivered to me today. He kept a journal I'll have to review, along with other writings.

I'm still not seeing any indication of murder, but the autopsy might have something. Results should be in tomorrow.

If the death wasn't so odd, I'd file this case closed and let the crows have him.

Tomorrow I'm supposed to interview the man who found him. A workman for the complex that was there to check the washing machine.

No news

Little movement on the case. The earplug had wax on it, and the other one was found in his right ear. His fingerprints were on the umbrella, and the doorknob entering the apartment.

Vera made meatloaf, with barbecue sauce. It turned out well. I think I'll wash the car this weekend.

Walking

At 2: 57 this morning I found his body. He was dressed in a thick woolen overcoat, hat, sunglasses. It was really the umbrella that caught my eye. He was inside of his apartment at the time he died, and he was holding an umbrella. From what I could see, there was nothing unusual about it, aside from it being open, nothing that might make a man clutch it in his last moments.

I looked closer at the body. It was then that I discovered the earplug. It was on the floor, the other was not visible, but it might've been in his other ear.

There was no blood. In fact, his apartment was remarkably tidy. It was like someone had come in and cleaned after the fact... it had the air of being artificially clean.
